It’s 2022 and time to make those resolutions and set those goals. I am a big nerd when it comes o such activities. I actually enjoy the process, so take time every year to reflect and plan. Naturally, I don’t always manage to do everything I set out to do, but I like having a plan for moving forward. I think the key to successful goal setting is NOT to be too rigid. Yes, you want to set SMART goals, but need to leave room to adjust as circumstances change–because they will!
One thing I enjoy is thinking and praying about a word or phrase that I think applies to the coming year. Last year, my word was ADVANCE. I feel as if I did advance in many areas, personally, spiritually, and in my writing goals.
For some reason, the phrase OPEN DOORS kept being impressed upon me as I was thinking about 2022. I like the idea of open doors, especially after there has been so much “closure” this past year. I feel ready to step into something new, so I pray that God would open just the right doors for me in 2022. Especially relevant is Colossians 4: 3 which says, “…pray for us, too, that God would open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ…” (NIV)
May 2022 be a year of open doors for you as well.
