About

Author - Artist - Playwright

Tracy Krauss is an award winning author, artist, playwright, speaker, teacher, mother, and grandmother – not necessarily in that order!

I’m so glad you stopped by! My writing passion is for contemporary Christian romance, but I also write stage plays and dabble in the visual arts. My work usually contains both suspense and humor and seems to strike a chord with those looking for a hard-hitting yet thought-provoking read. Some call it ‘edgy’ but I prefer ‘authentic’. Some of my books have won awards and several have been on Amazon’s bestsellers’ lists. My stage plays are tailored to a high school audience since I taught theatre arts for many years. I’ve also contributed to several anthologies, devotional books, and have illustrated one children’s book.

I was on the executive of ICWF (Inscribe Christian Writers Fellowship) for many years, a Canada-wide organization for writers of Christian faith, and I’m an active member of The Word Guild and ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers). Since I also enjoy reading, and I know how important reviews are for authors, I post reviews of books I enjoy online at amazon, goodreads, and sometimes on this blog. If I can’t honestly give a four or five-star review, I probably won’t review it, because I didn’t finish it!

Originally from the small prairie town of Mossbank, Saskatchewan, I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon and taught Secondary School English, Drama, and Art for more than twenty years. I was also involved in the homeschool movement for several years, teaching my own four children for nine years. I now work as a teacher/consultant for an online Christian school.  I’ve been involved in local theatre for more than thirty years and have written and directed dozens of stage plays, several of which have found homes with well-known US play publishing houses and have been performed all across North America.

I’ve co-pastored with my husband for many years, preaching, teaching, and leading worship. Since my husband is what I affectionately call an ‘adventurer’, we’ve lived in five provinces and territories including many remote and unique places in Canada’s far north such as Churchill, Manitoba – polar bear capital of the world; the Yukon – home of the Klondike Gold Rush; and the North West Territories. We now reside in beautiful Tumbler Ridge, the waterfall capital of British Columbia, where I am happy to continue pursuing all of my creative interests. After all that moving around, my children, their spouses, and the growing clan of grandchildren all live within a two-hour radius, so I feel very blessed.

Look around, browse the various book pages, or skim the blog for something of interest! I love to chat with readers, so contact me either through social media or by sending a message on the contact page, which can be found under ‘More’ at the top. God bless!
