This evening marks the beginning of the great celebration called the ‘Feast of Tabernacles’ or ‘Feast of Booths’. It is “Feast of Tabs” Eve, if you will. I mention it here because, as you may know, my four-part devotional series based on the Hebrew calendar was released this year. We are currently in the Autumn edition of the series. (For more on the series, see the bottom of this post.)
Today is a time to shift into celebration mode as we dwell in God’s holy presence and seek a new infilling of His glory as He invites all believers to ‘tabernacle’ with Him in a week-long celebration. It commemorates the time when the Israelites lived in tents in the wilderness. Later they were instructed to make temporary shelters or sleep on their balconies and rooftops. It’s basically a week-long camping trip with God!
There is so much to this special event, which lasts for eight days in total. For today, focus on the fact that God wants to ‘tabernacle’ or dwell with you in order to deepen your relationship with Him.
