I skimmed through some past Thanksgiving posts as I prepared to write today’s. It is Thanksgiving here in Canada, and since I schedule my blog posts on Mondays, there have been more than a few.
In 2022, I was thankful to be in our “new to us” home. I actually cooked a Thanksgiving turkey without having a kitchen sink installed yet! (That didn’t come until Christmas that year!) I am most definitely grateful for that improvement!
Another year I was thankful for my eyesight since I’ve had to undergo multiple eye surgeries in my life to correct a condition called “Ectopia Lentis”. (Dislocated lenses.) PTL I can still see out of one eye as I write this blog post!
In 2017, I was thankful for a brand new granddaughter, (Love you, Ingrid!) and since then we’ve gone from 3 to adding our eleventh grandchild in the new year. Wow! Also that year I was simply thankful for life since I survived a heart attack and open heart surgery.
As I reflect on the years gone by, I see more and more just how fortunate I am. God has been good to me and to my family. Yes, there have been struggles, as there are in any life, but for the most part, I have been truly blessed. Here’s to another wonderful Thanksgiving day.
And now I need to get the turkey in the oven!
Did you wash the roasting pan in the bathtub? Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family.
