NEW! I’m very excited to announce the release of a Christmas short story just in time for the holidays! The Best Blue Christmas is now available!
Cassidy suffered some past tragedy at Christmas time that has forever tainted her view of the holidays. To put it bluntly, she HATES Christmas! It’s just one of the reasons she ran away to the Yukon – so that she wouldn’t have to face family each year in December. But, she finds an unlikely ally in her outdoorsy neighbour, Brad. After attending the advertised ‘Blue Christmas’ celebration at the Anglican church, they make a pact to help one another get through the season. However, the more time they spend together, the more they realize that Christmas might not be so bad after all… depending on who you’re with!
This is a short read at only 10,000+ words, but I think it packs a lot into that tiny space. I actually wrote it back in 2014 and it was first published by Helping Hands Press. When my contracts with them ran out, it sat dormant for quite some time until I randomly decided to read through it again – just last week! When I read it I thought, “Wow, this is actually pretty good! I should republish it!”
And so here it is! I especially like some of the descriptions. For those who’ve been to Watson Lake, Yukon, you’ll recognize many things about the fictional town of ‘Walter Lake’. You’ll also be able to attest to the extreme cold. I mean, EXTREME. You can watch a short video below.
There is just so much to love about this little story, so I hope you decide to pick up a copy. As a promotion, I’m giving it away to any new subscribers to my mailing list. For loyal subscribers, I’m gifting it to you for Christmas! So that leaves everyone else if you want to purchase it at any online retailers. (The book page has all the current links.)
I plan to run a promotion for the next few weeks until Christmas, so keep an eye out. With so many copies going forth, I sure hope it gets some positive reviews!
