Happy Canada Day!

Happy Canada Day!

I love my country! I fully admit that I don’t usually party on Canada Day the way some of my American acquaintances do on July 4, but in our own “Canadian way” we celebrate our homeland’s birth and continued prosperity. Despite some political divisiveness, especially these days, I am so grateful to live where I live. I still think it’s the best country in the world!

Parades, Barbeques, concerts, fireworks… the way we celebrate varies. My favourite Canada Day celebration was the year my family and I went to Ottawa in 2002. It’s hard to believe it was more than twenty years ago, but I still remember the excitement of Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill. We’d often watched the concert on TV, so it was awesome to be there live. And the fireworks were amazing! It was a “bucket list” moment for me that I have never forgotten.
