It’s been quiet here on the blog for the past few months, but I would be remiss if I didn’t share the new devotional journal released at the end of July by my imprint:

LIVING WORD: Reflections and Prayer based on the Gospel of John

Darcy and I have a long-standing relationship, first as friends, artists, and more recently, me as her publisher. (This is her eleventh book!)

The thing about this one is, it came at what felt like just the right time. I have had little to no inspiration or motivation to write, to market, or to do much of anything creative since my daughter died in February of 2025.

But along came Darcy with a new book idea! It happened right after we had experienced another tragedy here in Tumbler Ridge–the school shooting which claimed nine lives. I think we both needed something creative to occupy our thoughts, and I definitely appreciated Darcy’s enthusiasm for the project. She also enlisted another friend, Jeanne Allan, to write prayers to go along with each scripture. We ended up with a lovely journal based on the Gospel of John, which includes scripture, reflections, prayers, and space for journaling and/or doodling and colouring. Darcy has been using it for a small group study with some ladies, too.

It’s a small step toward finding my creative feet again, and for that I am grateful. Plus, it’s a really nice book! Check it out!
