I used to be ever so disciplined when it came to blogging. I rarely missed a weekly post and seemed to find more than enough things to talk about. I first started blogging in November of 2009 and kept up the habit for over fifteen years.
Then, I lost all inspiration when my daughter died in February of 2025. It was a metaphorical pinprick to my writing balloon. Any energy or interest I had in writing spun away into the atmosphere. This included blogging.
But slowly, the urge to write is returning. SLOWLY.
As I mentioned last time, I’ve been editing a small national magazine, which has helped me keep my toe in the writing world. I’ve managed a few blog posts and a few newsletters (I used to write newsletters monthly), as well as the editor’s column for the magazine. But this is nowhere near the volume I used to write. I’ve got several WIPs on my computer waiting to be worked on–novels, plays, and some non-fiction ideas. Somehow, I want to kick-start myself and blogging more regularly seems like a good way to do it.
Interestingly enough, I felt the Lord nudging me in the spring with the word “MOVE”. Then again in July while visiting at my sister’s church, a woman I did not know prayed with me and said, “No more delay!” That was the fourth confirmation I had that it was time to start writing again.
So, this is me, finally taking that step. Hopefully, next time I’ll have something more substantial to say! In the meantime, God bless.
