Whispering Winds

More about the book & its inspiration

Have you ever been right beside a train as it rattles past at nearly full speed? I have! It’s frightening and breathtaking and exhilarating all at the same time. I used to walk to university every day on an old train bridge that spanned the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, Sask. There was a wooden walkway attached on one side of the bridge for foot traffic – or bicycles if you were brave! (I only did that once. Never again!) Most of the time the walk afforded an amazing view of the river and the buildings hugging its shoreline including the iconic Bessborough Hotel, built in the style of 19th century CN hotels that emulated European castles. However, if you ever got caught on the bridge when a train went by… Well, it’s an experience you won’t soon forget! In actuality, you are a safe distance away and there is a slim barrier between you and the train, but I swear it feels like you’re about to get sucked under those wheels!

The train bridge is just one locale I decided to incorporate in Whispering Winds. There are many more “real” locations embedded in the book, which hopefully gives it an authentic feel.

TOMORROW is launch day for the book!

Pre-order at Amazon or a myriad of other vendors. And don’t forget to leave a review!

You can read more about its inspiration and writing in this blog post from a few weeks ago. Enjoy!

Can she undo the shackles of her childhood trauma and allow love in?
